Shattered Memories

Shattered Memories

A Poem by The Valerian Legion
"

It was midnight and I sat down. In the quiet of the night all my memories overtook me. And the tears flowed down my cheeks like a ravine. And then there was only silence.

"

In the forest I sat.

Staring up at the sky.

The blue touched my soul.

A deep yearning of mine.

Beyond the hills and pastures.

As far as I could see.

The empty log sat.

Deep emerald green.

A soft wind blew.

The sorrow it deepens in me.

The tears fall like dew in the morning.

I cannot fathom the dark pools.

My heart breaks with the chimes.

Scarlet crimson there once was.

Now only a grimace sits.

Deep blue endless tides.

Alone I am. Alone I’ll be.

Fears flit like nightmares.

There must be more. There must be more!

Truth is so hard to find. Life even harder to live.

To this my fate be sat?

No one hears the small cry.

The mouse is trapped.

A back is broken. The light goes.

Smoldering ashes, the descent it takes.

Please Lord Moon hear me, please.

In the night I sit. My soul yearning.

Quiet and still. No one calls me.

There are no heroes here.

The fantasy was a lie.

Will I ever find a home?

I sometimes long to wither and die.

The noose its around my neck.

I just need a loving embrace.

Tell me I'm not alone. Tell me I'll make it out alive.

Something must give.

I look up as the sky goes black.

Okay here I am. Do your magic.

Oh Lord Moon.
