Mount AthanasiosA Poem by The Valerian LegionEver had a dream that felt like a vision where you embarking a journey only to, upon waking, still feel it vividly and wonder if it meant something?I am one. Alone I trekked. I ran up the mountain. A pack and a map I had. It was high and the air thin. Around it was skinny trees. Reaching in, I found my ring. Hands holding a heart with a crown. As I set it on, I looked up. The cry of a Eagle shook me. I cried out at the peak. My voice echoed like glass. Feet planted, my arms outstretched. Above me I looked with hunger. “Hear me now!” I begged. A swoop later, the Eagle cried. At my feet he sat a three leaf clover. And a Iris with knotweed. I gathered them to me. Each one I admired. As tears trailed down, I saw the sun. Its warmth touched my face. I sat down, cross legged. The sky grew blue as sapphires. And clouds frolicked by. Cold though it was, I smiled. As I stood, night approached. I made my way back down. One step at a time. When I looked back... There were two sets of footprints. © 2012 The Valerian LegionAuthor's Note
