Rose GardenA Poem by Tessa***for Wicahpi's contest***When I got my invitation to the Rose Garden I nearly jumped out of my seat Once a year a lucky villager gets chosen To see the garden with the king and feast They send you a carriage with a coachman And take you on a magical ride Past the mountains and across the ocean This honor is to be taken with great pride When I arrived at the Rose Garden I was escorted inside the gates My face lit up with excitement I just couldn't wait When the king appeared in front of me I felt like I was in a dream We walked through the garden on a stone path And on the bridge over a stream There were so many types of flowers A tulip, daisy and carnation galore There were fountains and birds taking showers Peacocks, pheasants, blue jays and more Once we were done exploring the garden We went inside the castle to the great banquet hall The candle light cast across the table There was a chandelier made of diamonds hanging tall We took our seats in the mahogany chairs There was a bowl of fruit with apples, oranges and pears The servants came out with so much food, we wouldn't have to share I set my napkin on my lap ready to eat There were turnips, potatos, bread and beats And a variation of meats Never in my life had I seen so much food Everything tasted extraordinarily good Now that we were done with our meal The servants came out with dessert There was fruit, cake, muffins and wine But I won't lie, my favorite part was the cherry pie Everything had tasted so divine And I won't forget this remarkable day for a long time
