Masked Face Sweetheart

Masked Face Sweetheart

A Poem by Tessa
"

"
She chooses to sit in the back of the class-
For fear of showing her true self
Masked face sweetheart, what are you so afraid of?
She sits solitary at lunchtime-
Homework never done on time
How has the stress burdened you so?
The school counselor sits her down-
Asks her why she always frowns
There was only silence to fill the void
It was the day of the presentation
No ones ever heard her speak-
Why would she let them now?
Mental breakdown in the bathroom
Makeup streaming down her face
She just wants to get away from there
Humiliation was met, in her mind it was set-
On how she would end things
Morning came and she was running late
Her father yelled at her to hurry the f*ck up-
We don't have all day
Thoughts filled her head
Tears rolled down her eyes
Masked face sweetheart, why are you in so much pain?
She popped the pills in her mouth-
Without any second thoughts
Soon her sufferings would be gone
She sat in her bed
She laid down her head
Masked face sweetheart was dead
