Missing something that doesn’t exist anymore

Missing something that doesn’t exist anymore

A Poem by mistyClouds

My mind is plagued with memories of the past

It lingers in the background like the smell of burnt oil

As I try to heal my wounds, the cycle only proves

That love is not what it seems

That as much as we want love to be enough for two people

If one person doesn’t feel love back

There is no going back

This doesn’t mean that it was wrong or bad

It just means that which it is

A reality that we have no control over

And acceptance is the cure to this hangover

I really liked this write, certain amount of sadness comes through,
so nicely expressed.
