Saying Goodbye

I wrote this poem while I was experiencing a difficult time in my life.

Learning to Say Good-Bye

Why do we find it so difficult to say good-bye?

Is it because somehow we feel that we will be departing from 

a part of ourselves we don't want to let go, or see die? 

Maybe, we feel that by saying good-bye we will somehow miss-out on something, 

or we feel like we've given-up to soon to see,

what will be the outcome of our destiny. 

Saying good-bye to someone or something, letting go, fearing the unknown.

These are a few of the feelings we have come across,

But, the one feeling holding us back is the fear of fear itself.

It will paralyze you, not allowing you to hold the burdened cross, 

The cross that only YOU bare alone, 

crippling you,

reminding you that the illusion you created is no more. 

We have to learn how to move-on and let-go, 

Somehow find the strength to move forward

in order to find out who we are,

why we are here,

and what our purpose is in this world. 

No one teaches you how to say good-bye, how to learn to move-on.

There aren't any courses on the subject,

It is simply something we must all learn on our own time. 

Life has these funny ways of letting you know,

When the right time is for closure.

Life teaches us too,

Never settle; if you look hard enough you will find what you seek. 

Never to give-up on yourself; no matter how difficult your situation is.

Too truly believe in yourself; because no one else will believe in you, if you don't believe in yourself. 

Never stop searching for that inner yearning you seek for. 

This and many more reasons I know that today, 

I will find the Voice, the Strength, the Will 

to look at my past and say, 

It's been a ride, I have nothing to hide.

I will remain pure with my thoughts and actions,

but most importantly, I will learn to move-on with grace

and face

my reality as I have chosen!
