Remember when...

Remember when...

A Poem by Vaida Ledzin

Remember when we first tasted heaven?

Such bright and permanently blue…

Remember when we first counted the stars?

Small, but so cute…

Remember when the ground was spinning around,

For it felt so cozy and good…

Remember when were singing in the rain?

The songs without words that only we both understood…

Remember when by the candle we were looking at the eyes?

Closed, but still sad…

Remember when the glass of wine was vibrating in the hand

Spreading the taste and odor senses…

I remember when all this has dissapeared

And we went away in our own ways…

However painful is to remember that

I still ask myself "

Do you remember, when….

Memories are a powerful thing that can hold such painful or beautiful times... No matter how we want to cast them away, they will always live on. I like how you described the innocence of the past. When you look back and realize how simple things were, it makes the present seem unbearable. The constant question "do you remember" seems like the speaker never wants to let go of those wonderful time, lest it be forgotten. This was a very enjoyable to read. Great job!
