![]() A Day in the Life of the White-Collar BusinessmanA Poem by vb11![]() ABC poem![]() Analytical thoughts galvanize the mind, Beautiful portraits of thought intertwine, Cleaning the cobwebs of fantasy away, Death to the stagnant ideas before day, Elsewhere feet and arms start to budge, Fairyed awake with a chin’s gentle nudge, Gradually dark turns from light of the morn, Hopping young seconds are steadily born, Inching away on the clocks twitching face, Jittery movement with astonishing grace, Killing the minutes in armies of sixty, Lurking time gets scarce bluntly but quickly, Munching Mcmuffins while racing to work, Noting the miniscule stain on your shirt, Out at the rat race, the breadwinners toil, Playing your boss, looking smooth as tin foil, Reiterate work makes it hard to hide strain, Sending an e-mail as time starts to wane, Taking work home, only stopping to shower, Unveiling your face from the mask worn for hours, Vowing you won’t always live all alone, Xanthic and sick from life as a clone, You begin to drift under a familiar sky, Zenith of dreamland’s fantastic lies. © 2010 vb11 |
