The Mask

We all wear our masks.

There‘s always two of us,

One that we show and the one that only we know.

 

We take it slow,hone our skills,and learn to be good actors;

We start moving along our respective vectors.

 

We work hard,shine bright like stars.

Behind those masks we hide our deepest scars.

 

Broken personalities,twisted realities,

We do a good job at hiding it all.

Truth weighs us down but we stand tall.

 

We do what we don’t want to do.

We become what we don’t want to become.

 

We lie,

We try,

We smile,

At night we cry.
