Van Gogh

Van Gogh

A Poem by RJM
"

For Vincent Van Gogh

"
Van Gogh

A splash of colors
on the canvas of
my pained heart

Strokes, dabs and twirls
to show the world
full of color and hope

Yet the color can not
conquer the darkness
brewing in my heart

This world I dreamt
of for all, to see
will never happen

So today I'll end
it all forever with
a bullet to my heart

"The sadness will last forever."
- Vincent Van Gogh

Missed his heart by quite a ways...hung in there for three days till Theo got to his side and died in his arms. I'm an expert on Van Gogh and not only him but the whole family...very interesting family, that one. You'd love my poem Crows about Vincent's final masterpiece...if you'd like to read it, I can send it to you. Not posted here now I don't think. Anyway...I liked this a great deal...anything that has to do with the Van Gogh family always interests me...did you know his great great nephew was murdered in...was it 2002? Anyway, his name was Theo too...same as Vincent's brother...look him up on the web. He was a film maker. He was killed by radical Muslims over an expose' he was filming on Islam's treatment of women. He smoked, drank and used cocaine openly and to excess...yes, an interesting bunch...those Van Goghs.

So many of the great writers and artist lived life in disappointment. I believe the people who have too much vision into this world. Can't control what their mind is bringing to them. The Jim Morrison of the world wanted too much. Read a Kosinski book. He master the language of English in 6 weeks. I like the paintings of Vincent Van Gogh. Few artist have left us with so much beauty. A outstanding poem.
