The Moon's Days Without His Sun

The Moon's Days Without His Sun

A Story by Mriss Torres

He reached out his hand toward the dark blue sky,
Where the moon bled profusely and cried madly.

The sun was nowhere to be found,
Causing the moon to look vulnerable for everyone's eyes to see.

Where has she wandered off to this time?

The moon repeatedly asked to anyone who walked by.
They all gave the same hurried answer.

No one knew.

He laid his hand by his side,
Crumbling it in a fist until his knuckles became white.
He then released the pressure and looked up at the stars.

He wondered out loud where his love had gone
and a gush of wind whispered in his ear.

Once she has found what she is looking for on her own,
she will come back and share what the world has taught her with you.
Be patient.
She has not stopped loving you.
She will only begin to love herself.
