Infatuation

Infatuation

A Poem by Mriss Torres

I was infatuated with you.

To be near your vibrant aura.

To listen to your voice as you spoke intellectually towards topics you were passionate about.

But

I was not in love.

You were not in love.

We were not in love.

For reasons you just couldn’t reciprocate,

and for I had no reason to get involved with you in the first place.
