Blue-eyes, You've Done It Again

Blue-eyes, You've Done It Again

A Story by KC

He smiled as she neared- the goofy grin of a man in love. Although he wouldn’t have chosen such a strong word to describe the warm feeling of affection that settled into his belly whenever he saw her, it remained to be seen what would come of it. His past proclamations of love were but drops of water in this ocean of emotion. No other girl had made his heart race as she did. Just the anticipation of her had him on the edge of his seat, but he couldn’t get up to greet her. Her laughing blue eyes surveyed him, drawing him it. Ravaging him…
His white knuckles suddenly relaxed from their position. Color flushed his face. She drew her mouth close to his and he had the heady realization that she might kiss him. But her lips sheared across his cheek, coming to rest above his ear. He wondered what she might say. What beautiful words would come from this sultry temptress? He waited…
You’re not my type…

He awoke with a start. It had been the same dream every night this week, the same sequence of events leading to the inevitable. He raised his head, gazing bleary-eyed at the clock on the wall. 5:00 A.M, he thought sarcastically, right on time. With an inward groan he rolled over and pulled the tangle of sheets at his waist up. Blue-eyes you’ve done it again…
