Truthfully, We Speak; Without Words.

Truthfully, We Speak; Without Words.

A Poem by Toni Nicole

across the room
i glance his way
his warm skin exposing more by each second.
my heart beats wildly in my chest.
my breathing catches in my lungs.
i remind myself of the so many reasons i love him.
feet, chilling slightly against the cold wood floor of his room
i betray my feelings of fear
and put my hands on his bare shoulders.
soft and warm, i move to his wrists.
i lift his hands, heavy in mine
and press them to my lips,
sensual and soft, they meet.
truthfully we speak without words.
silence spilling through the crack of the door
music is our breath, measured and hot
the sound of skin on skin
of weight on pressed cotton sheets
your eyes enclose my face in a compass of gold
and i to only meet with my pale grey
and somehow we have escaped
there is nothing BUT us.
nothing else matters.
your skin tastes salty and worn on my lips
and trembling so, i trace my fingers over your face
cologne and the sweet smell of sweat spilling through aire.
entangled in a moment of no time,
we merrily meet and part again.
while our bodies make poetry.
