Single Serving

Single Serving

A Poem by Toni Nicole

Silencing me with promising eyes
You led me in from frigid gusts of winter.
I found myself in sheets of red
Passing love from your tongue to my lips...

From my lips to your chest...

We danced, tangled in an affair of bedsheets and blankets...
Hot breaths and darkness...
Anchored to your legs with mine own
Your chest with a fair hold on my ribs.
You drew icicles down my neck
And I gasped at your artwork
What do I believe more?
Eyes of rich and gold
Or words of promise told by lips that tremble?
I close my eyes and let my hands drive me to an answer.
The smooth skin of your back,
Spells out indecision.
And a moment has passed eternally.
Too soon, the morning pushes through the eastern window.
As if my number had been read
I gather my desire off the floor
And make for the exit.
A single serving of delight from your mouth to mine,
And I step away.
Your poison, a parting gift. only teaching me of tomorrow.
