A Poem by Toni Nicole

The full moon couldn't rise fast enough

Just as the sun won't push through the sky

When I seal a promise to your lips

When betrayal would bid my goodbye

Alongside a pond of lillies

Greeted by tombstones on an opposing path

When the days greet you with sorrow

Will you give into life or death's wrath

Dripping like morning dew this dawn

The sweat covers each face

I will stand in the cold until darkness

A wish that you'll meet at this place.

My heart may not be of value

But, my love, it's all I'm to give

And with every waking moment

Alongside you, I wish to long live.
