A Poem by Toni Nicole

I haven’t an objection
To walk alone in the rain
Knowing that the storm will pass
And my heart will yield no pain.

Railroad tracks lay barren.
Neither light nor train to come
As it may have spelled a nightmare,
Here stood a paradise for some.

The sunlight danced upon your skin
The memory hath not passed
Sometime might I remind?
You pray be first and last.

The only one to cross those shores
To escape this meager life
He left for something on first glance
To her, I bid not strife.

Let us vacate from admission
To the hearts that held us so.
Alone we wish for subtle rains
To be faulty, granted snow.

Love, herein lies no cessation
Therefore, I document no days.
Our hearts will dance in ecstasy,
Making colors from cold grays.
