Common FlowerA Poem by unspokenpainPoetry Speaks
I witnessed a bud bloom late one night. The petals looked happy to uncurl for the first time, the first time in a life anew. It was so gentle and frail, yet I’ve never seen anything stronger. This is love I thought; love for a common flower. I wanted to keep that moment forever. Never have I seen white curves stay so perfect while its body moved with the wind. Dew clung to its petals with such a weight that any other would fall; yes, all fell below this common flower. I wondered if I could keep it until death do us part. Only in my hands would it be safe, only with me could it never wilt. Such a silly idea and I knew that true. Yet I will live in fallacy and idiocy, just for a common flower. Across a garden I made; Upon the roses I water; A common flower lives.© 2017 unspokenpain |
