Oh, I know just what this poem is going on about! I can really relate to this piece, and I feel that many others can as well. If only we did live in such as world as you describe...unfortunately, because of humanity's Master's Degree in Drama, we probably never will. Still, we can try to become (and sometimes succeed in becoming) adventurers in this world, can't we? Given how the world is, I think that's good enough for now. I really did enjoy reading this. Keep up the great work! :)

I really enjoyed this poem! This is why some people write, to make the world greater than the one they live in. When I am reading and really enjoying the settings where my mind had been, sometimes it is hard to drag yourself back to the world where " buildings are gray, and the people are mean."
I think this is my favorite read so far!

I relate to this poem so much, as you know - thinking about my story (only slightly obsessively... lolz) and wishing the fantasy worlds we create through writing could actually become real. "Can we live in a fantasy, / Can we wake to that dream?" - I so much wish we could! And then, in regards to reality, "Can we really escape, / Can we leave reality, / Can we call this a dream?" is so honest and blunt, allowing anyone who might disapprove of our obsessing over fantasy to consider the reasons WHY we do so. My favorite lines of all have to be "I know it's just a lie, / a lie to hide in. / Still, it helps me sleep better." The repetition throughout this poem is beautiful, as is the contrast you create between fantasy and reality. Very well written. Excellent work!
i like this poem a lot. i love the format that you wrote it in that flowed nicely. only problem with it i see is the last line for some reason, maybe its just me. overall i really like the poem and the theme that your writing about. because it is true that our bodies use sleep to rest but for a lot of people they use it to escape and hide from reality. and i like how in the second to last group of words you asked if we can call this reality a dream. but i don't think it'd be a dream, more like a nightmare.

your welcome, thank you for writing such a wonderful poem.
Poetry speaks when my words can't. Watch me dance with words. Watch me create a world. I will undress who you are. Realize the masochist inside of you as my dominating words grasp that which lets you .. more..
