Dear Karen...
Killed by a broken heart, that's my lie.
I wrote a letter, it didn't say much.
I found God, but evangelize I did not.
I played piano, yet not a song was written.
Angel is in evangelize, I wondered if that was on purpose?
I wrote a letter, I never sent it.
I chose poetry over piano, and their all anonymous.
I like this girl, but I don't know what love is.
Real steps must be taken, or they never existed.
I wrote a letter, It was addressed to no one.
I never told her how I felt, and I seem fine.
I read the bible a lot, did I tell anyone that I prayed?
Ending's are sad, they make me cry.
I wrote a letter, I'm the only person that reads it.
I think I'm not sad, or have I just gotten used to it?
I love my friends, do they know how much they mean to me?
Never should we stay silent, for words are power.
I wrote a letter, I want to show someone.
I like my religion, I want my friends to know.
I want to know love, maybe i'll write a letter.
I enjoyed the subtle repetition in this. "I wrote a letter, I never sent it...I wrote a letter, It was addressed to no one...I wrote a letter, I'm the only person that reads it." It seems somewhat desperate in a way. Desperate to convey something that cannot be said, but written instead? Thank you for sharing.

Thank you! I'm Glad you liked it. I was inspired to write something that had that feeling yet it als.. read moreThank you! I'm Glad you liked it. I was inspired to write something that had that feeling yet it also wraps around and technically false, as this is that letter described and karen is not a person but the thoughts of the person and the letter itself. i subtly hid it in the first sentence of each paragraph as a way of showing that lol but I don't think people noticed.
You know for someone that doesn't drop name bombs or reveal anything personal, this is VERY intimate! I really like it, words ARE power. I've written many un-sent letters, they can be very therapeutic :)

Karen isn't a person... but the letter itself... look closely. :)
You did a really great job with this. I think everyone can identify with this, or at least I can. It really conveys the emotions you're feeling and the uncertaintiy that comes with having something you want, or need to say, and writing it down, but never letting it go and letting other people see it. Always having it there inside of you, but never truly letting it out. Amazing

Poetry speaks when my words can't. Watch me dance with words. Watch me create a world. I will undress who you are. Realize the masochist inside of you as my dominating words grasp that which lets you .. more..
