don’t forget your ring when asking for more.

Lovely lady who has it all,

put on your make-up behind a closed door.

Lovely lady who has it all,

the world loves your picture thrown on the floor.

Lovely lady who has it all,

you know that you’re what the world adores.

Lovely lady who has it all,

pick up your purse and prepare for war.

Lovely lady who has it all,

you were supposed to smile and nothing more.

My broken mirror up on the wall,

look past the mask, that’s what you do.

My broken mirror up on the wall,

show me my smile, but a frown i’ll give you.

My broken mirror up on the wall,

can you lie for me, hide what you know is true.

My broken mirror up on the wall,

can you please stop talking, I know it too.

My broken mirror up on the wall,

It’s time to go my friend, it’s only us two.

My broken mirror up on the wall,

we’ve never been so close, this has long been past due.

Lovely lady who had it all,

I was broken, but not on the wall.

Lovely lady who had it all,

Do you see it now, why we were never tall.

Lovely lady who had it all,

were in this together, though i'm now so small.

Lovely lady who had it all,

I loved your smile, why did you let it fall?

Lovely lady who had it all,

I only spoke truth, yet this was not my call.

Good format. I like the way repetition plays here. The rhyming scheme is excellent. I like poems that read like stories; beginning, middle, end. You had that here.

Mirrors are terrible liars. They keep telling me I'm getting old.

Thank you. My inspiration was a story of a woman considered perfect but with hidden flaws that were exposed when she committed suicide. I felt it was a story worth sharing
