The Lights

It was a dark, cold night when the Lightning appeared. Like every aspect of nature, it was beautiful… but that was before IT started.

At first we thought it was a glitch from its energy source, as the lightning started hitting public places. Retail stores, schools, movie theaters... After some years, we have gotten used to the danger. But our universe is still affected.

It’s been 54 years… 54 years of total chaos, and suffering, and loneliness… and it was when I turned 10 that this all happened. I saw it as my birthday present for 1 week, it was so charming and warm. That was when it was up in the sky. It was like the Aurora Borealis, colorful and full of enlightenment. That was phase 1. Phase 2, I remember, happened 2 years later. The lights were starting to look weird… different from before. The sky turned pitch black at some times. We were all starting to think it was an eclipse. But it was the lights that covered the sun. They started taking all of our energy. All of our warmth. They even possessed the moon. 3 months of darkness was what we got in return. Phase 3 is when they started sending some sort of signal, like an emission of light. These emissions hit the home of the wealthy. Part of the middle class was also affected, and the poorest people received warmth instead. It was this way for 16 months. That’s how chaos started, the wealthy were giving away their money, but no one was receiving it. The poor took some, in order to have something to eat and other necessary things. Phase 4 was when the poor got struck. You can imagine what that caused… people fighting to get their things back. None of this worked… It was during Phase 5 that we had all learned our lesson. Money does not change who you are, or if you live or die. Because by this phase, we were all being hit. Walking by the street, watering your garden, even inside your own home. Lighting hit us like crazy… you would look outside and there were people in the streets… dead.

So… your planet? The so called “Earth” is apparently in Phase 1. I’ve been sent here to warn you. Phase 6 is total destruction. So either you leave while you can, or you stay here…

 Just remember… don’t follow the lights.
