Going Home

Going Home

A Poem by Laura Ex

Anticipation

      What will it be like?

Anxiety

Life outside these walls is so different.

Disbelief

Hearing those words slip from your tongue

Choking

Is the only sound I can make.

Crumbling

Down inside, my inner-self is breaking.

Hopelessness

      Consumes me, nothing has changed.

Fear is not always an easy emotion to feel or face and I think you're doing a lot of that now, but I don't blame you. Who wouldn't be afraid of going home after going what you went through? A very well-written and emotional piece. I like it.
