A Poem by Laura Ex

I saw you, screaming, shining
It feels a dream so far away
And it feels the happy said goodbye to me
But decided not to retreat quite so far back
Like it usually does
I'm all mixed up
Like a tequila-martini-daiquiri
The music plays in my head
But for some unknown reason,
i.can't.hear.it.
Tell me another time
Why my feelings don't matter.
Invalidate me some more and we'll see how far that goes
Curled up in some place too cold to touch
I think I'm there again
Sleeping on floors or couches
Reminding me of a time when I wasn't so whole
When in fact I was very very broken
And now I'm simply whole-broken complicated
Take life as it comes
Or in my case, take numb as it comes and goes
Ebbs and flows
See you later
See you soon
