Things Are Different

Things Are Different

A Poem by Laura Ex

Hello there,
Things are different now
How have you been doing?
Are you happy? Show me how.
And you’re invited to my life
But I urge you not to come
Or I might be reminded
Of things I’ve left undone
Of emotions that I’ve locked
So very far away
I’d be torn between two loves
And my heartbeat would delay
It’s like I have two rhythms
Flowing through my veins
Two separate entities
Which occupy my brain
