I'm Letting Go

I'm Letting Go

A Poem by Laura Ex

I am flying
Floating on air
A storm is approaching
I am scared
The clouds swirl
The wind breaks
It strikes me down
I am falling
But before I hit the ground
A hand catches me
Unaware of its heroics
It sets me free
I think of the clouds
How free they seemed to be
I make a decision
I climb
I climb very far
I jump
I fall
No flying this time
Just falling
And as last time
Before I hit
The very same hand saves me
Unknowing of the injury
Unknowing of the hate
Just live on
While I die
While I want to die
Save me when necessary
Your motto
But don’t care
I scream
You do not hear
Your hand is too busy saving other unwanted lives
This time
I will do nothing wrong
I will plan perfectly
The hand will not reach out
And I will not fly
