Wait

Wait

A Poem by Laura Ex

Hurt and despair

Hide as anger

Look at the mask

It's hardly real

And yet, it fools

Like no other fool can

So steady beats my heart

Although steady isn't stable

I laugh a waterfall

To be loved, i am not able

To be let in, you must wait

Wait for the flood to stop damage

Wait for the clouds to fade

Wait for me to be content

With none other than the desperate tormentor

Who goes by the name of my outside face

The face that everyone knows

The face that is a liar

No one can see past the mask

For what Lies behind

Is not what they think.
