Letting Go

Letting Go

A Poem by New Age Love
"

A necessary skill in life that I have yet to master

"

I have a hard time letting go.

The things I thought I knew but I don't

Life is messy; it can be cruel and unfair.

Hearts dancing in the sky under a cool summer's air.

Beach trips and sunrises; moonbows and sunsets.

Still I have no room for any regrets.

What I wish I had, I will never gain

What I feel now is my heart's worst pain.

But what I have learned is it is time to let go.

But the path I must take, I really don't know.

They say that if you really love something you have to let it go

If it comes back to you then it was yours, don't ya know?

But the scariest thing that I know,

Is you'll never come back if I let go.

This heartbreak is something I've never seen coming,

the path you're taking makes it clear that you're running.

But what I must do now is the hardest thing to know,

I have to learn to let you go.

This is so real and easy to relate to! I too am in this position of knowing its time to let go but scared of the next path. Good luck to you!

Depression is a darkness that covers everything in your world. Like a mist that takes over. And makes you see nothing nice at all. But you do come back from it. It makes you believe and think you never will come back from it. It's the great liar and deceiver. I also suffer from depression and relate to this big time. Well written and expressed. I hear you loud and clear.
