I always saw you...

I always saw you...

A Poem by Stef Outsiders

I like to be invisible at night
your eyes cant see me
but I can see you
my life rests on the point
of that very knife now
I can see you don't care
behind me I've dug myself a hole
Am already dressed in black
No need for a funeral
This is the reason I don't fall?
This is why I shouldn't love at all?
The pain is unbearable
and guys like you
couldn't love
not like I would you
so what's the point?
some love harder
than others
guess am one of them
I don't ask for much
just proof
but love isn't what its meant to be
I like to be invisible
you cannot see me
never could
though,
I always...
always saw you!

Chancing your emotions on love is a great risk but we never know until we try... I admit I have felt like this at times when I felt someone was too good for me.

This is very dramatic and very visual, even though the subject is the opposite. But even interesting than the initial reading is the psychological cry of hurt over the pain of love. We are in pain without it and all too often in pain with it. For many of us the link between love and pain is close and strong, making love a very difficult issue. This might be seen as sad and I know some shy away from love because of it. But it also shows the sheer power, edge and point of love. Yes, it is dangerous perhaps, but that danger also excites us and brings meaning to our lives. The desire to be invisible might be read as a wariness of that power and a fear to get to close to it. The mood feel sort of threatening at the top but seems to shift to one of wariness later on. Once again, your words make me think, respond.
