I keep wandering the same road

  this time, I am trying to walk away

    saving myself from this lie

      saving you from what hurts

For what is found

  A love so fatal 

    pushing the boundaries 

     Friends we once were

I have a life with him

    were lost in a dangerous love

      we have to leave it alone

Let's save what we have left

Reading this is like being a fly on the wall at a very sad confessional. The love clearly had a powerful for two people to succumb to it when they were loved up elsewhere. But such is the nature of love. It knows its way when we do not. 'Saving myself from this lie' is the strongest line for me, catching as it does the way your rationality is striving to exert itself and prevent a train wreck. Incidentally, my eye can't help following the pleasing way all those italicised Ffffs look on the page, as if they are trying to convey some secret little msg known only to the lies of the poem.
