New EyesA Story by Stef OutsidersThis is first chapter of New Eyes, next installment from Glass Eyes!Steph One "Trudy, your not going out like that." I argued. Trudy my eighteen year old sister who is officially an adult and thinks she can do what she wants, wear what she wants; within reason. As the older sister, I still have an opinion when it involves belt's as skirts and less then nothing top's. Some time's I have to remind her she's no ordinary eighteen year old, I don't like doing it but the hard reality is, she is a were-cat. "I' am going out like this, I don't care what you think or have to say." She growled back. She rolled on her six inch heeled boot's and headed for the door, I wasn't prepared to let her go clubbing looking like a hooker. "Trudy- Are you forgetting what you are? you can't flaunt yourself like that! your asking for trouble." I frustrated at her. But she completely ignored me and I sense she rolled her eye's at me while carelessly opening the front door. "God your so annoying!" She blurted out and step out onto the porch, Trudy was centimeters out of the door when I called for her. "Trudy! wait!" But she slammed the door in my face. I went to the living room window and watched her laughing her way down the garden path to her mates. A bunch of Gothic nobody's and vampire wannabes, my skin crawls at the thought of her friends worship those creature's. In the last three months she has been coming home of smelling of death, she says her friends like hanging out at graveyards. But graveyards don't have this type of smell, it makes me uneasy. Either she's hanging out with a vampire or they are vampire's. She wouldn't tell if they were and I can't go accusing till I have some sort of proof. While I still stood and watched, she greeted one of her girlfriends and they saw me as they hugged. She whispered in Trudy's ear and Trudy looked round and shrugged. Then her body moved to locked lip's with one of the boy's- Luke if i remember rightly- I've heard his name mentioned a few times. I watched her devour him with her tongue and it felt embarrassing because she is my little sister and there's nothing I can do. He's looks strange and not trustworthy- I don't like the look of him at all, his dark messy hair and dull pale complexion, black long leather coat and dirty jeans. He wore glasses so I couldn't see his eyes. Strange; very strange. Her Gothic mates all crowed into a mini van and Trudy glanced back an evil farewell. I closed my eyes and sighed, disappointed with myself for not putting up more of fight. I'm getting old and tired, left alone in our home that was abandon two centuries ago and legally claimed after the many repairs to ensure it was safe to live in. Back in the day we wouldn't care so much for our homes like they do today, it's all rules now. Our house was once in a peaceful woodland on the the edge of Lyne village but now it's a turned into a street, full of neighboring neighbors we slowly befriended. I took a peek at the old clock's face on my wall above the fire place, Trudy left at nine and already it feels like hours have passed. So I decided to finish reading the news paper left on my coffee table by the sofa, the front headline caught my attention. TEENAGE ABDUCTIONS; KILLER STILL NOT FOUND! Its worrying to read and I feel for those families, I know Trudy can take care of herself but would she be able to stop a killer without becoming a killer herself?
