Iron Vines - In memory of John Thrumble x

Iron Vines - In memory of John Thrumble x

A Poem by Stef Outsiders
"

This is a song dedicated to a fellow solder who was taken while at war in Afgan

"

I hear your loud voice,

In the mist of it all,

the body is so heavy,

You're heart can't take your pain,

Can’t carry your metal tear drops

That lay in the palm of my hand.

Your arm's reach out,

Then you notice you feel cold

Can’t feel your finger tips

Can’t feel my hold

Don’t walk into the light yet

They can't take what is mine

Stay away from those angels

It is not your time.

The thorn's are its killer,

They will strangle out your heart,

I will not let it wrap you in its coils,

and pull you deeper, deeper into the dark.

Chorus:

Those Iron Vines can't have you,

Don’t give into their whispers

You belong here

Stay away from the Iron Vines

The Iron Vines will never have you.

Darling hold on to my voice,

listen to an aching heart,

listen to the tears,

The ones that are pulling us apart.

Follow the path I laid out for you,

Break through the Iron Vines,

My love you are not ready to go,

open your eyes.

Just open your eye's...

(Oh Oh Oh)

The thorn's are it's killer,

They will strangle out your heart,

I will not let it wrap you in it's coils,

and pull you deeper, deeper into the dark.

Chorus:

Don't let the Iron Vines take you,

Don't let those whispers in,

Run from those Iron Vines,

The Iron Vines will not have you.

No No No they will not have you

so open your eyes... (Oh Oh Oh)

Oh, open those eyes.

Beautiful and a perfect tribute. You did them proud.

War is never pleasant as video games make them out to be. It would be hard to watch someone die on the battlefield and know it was going to happen again and again and eventually happen to me. I like the poetic beginning and how this transitioned into a song.
