Defining Character with the Word of God

"
In life we know that if we are born a female we grow into a woman and if we are born a male we grow into a man. One thing God has been working on me with is the transformation of a woman into a lady and a man in to a gentleman. Just because you are a female, it does not automatically make you a lady. Just because you are a male, it does not automatically make you a gentleman.

The word woman means an adult female person. The word lady refers to the character of a woman. It means refined, polite and well-spoken. The word man means an adult male person. The word gentleman refers to the character of a man. It means of good family, breeding, or social position. It also means civilized, educated, sensitive or well mannered.

We are spiritual beings and we live in a body and possess a soul. Our soul consists of our will, emotions and mind. If we live as we were created in God’s image and likeness then our spirits would dominate our flesh. In life we allow our flesh to dominate our spirit and most of the times it causes us to act out of character. We allow inner emotions to paint the picture that is seen on the outside to others.

Some of us often get called out of our name and I am here to tell you that it is because of how you present yourself to others. No one has a right to call you out of your name, but if you act the part folks will tend to respond to you based on your actions. It is time we define who we are by allowing are spirits to reap the harvest of the fruit of the spirit and grow to a place where God needs us in this life!

We go through so many challenges in life that sometimes we are unable to control our flesh and we allow our souls to dictate our outward appearance. Sometimes women called themselves ladies but their outward appearance paints a different picture. Sometimes men call themselves gentlemen but their attitudes and appearance shows a conflict. We have allowed our emotions to create this character that is portrayed in the movie of our lives.

We are stereotyped based off of our appearance, actions and surroundings. These stereotypes do not dictate to me who I am or what I should be called. God has built up a burning desire on the inside of me to live by His design and in order to do so I must seek Him and allow His Word to develop me into a lady. Society can no longer display pictures of characters on the screen that serves as an example of what is a lady or a gentleman. Only God can provide us a clear picture! It is time that we take a look in a mirror and see what others see. When you look in the mirror do you see a lady or a gentleman?

God has been dealing with me on defining the real beauty of my spirit and showing me how all women were created as women of God. He has also shown me that all women are not ladies of God, by displaying His image and likeness and vice versa for men. He has shown me how certain characterictics have no place in my life! He has taught me how real beauty is within and once you heal all the hurt and pain within it will have a major impact on what is displayed on the outside.

I am thankful I have had another chance to fall in love with the Lord all over again. He is truly defining my overall appearance, attitude, mind, heart and soul into who He will have me to be. I say to all my friends and family it is time to take a STAND and be the LADY or GENTLEMAN that God has called you to be! Allow the Word to help develop your spiritual beauty and have the character God created in you! Today is a new day for CHANGE to take place in your life!!!

Be Blessed
