Snake Eyes

Snake Eyes

A Poem by Claire Darrow

Let's make believe we are kings and queens,

or I am a tiger and you are a piece of meat.

Let's pretend it is backwards day,

so stop means go and no means yes.

Let's play a guessing game,

what did I slip in your drink?

Eyes roll back like loaded dice -

you are nothing, but a sacrifice.

Fighting a losing battle of virtue versus vice.
