Asymptote

Asymptote

A Poem by Moon or The Moons Light

For years now we’ve been on the right path

For years now I’ve waited every day for the moments when you talk first

For years now I’ve thought about the day we finally kiss

For years now we’ve been so close

So many times

I’ve said something wrong

You’ve said something wrong

I’ve looked the wrong way

You’ve looked the wrong way

I’ve been with someone else

You’ve wanted someone else

You’ve felt differently at different times

The moments when I’m ready

Are those times you’ve felt different

The moments when you’re ready

Are those times when I’ve felt different

Two lines

Curved, turning way from way

Moments apart from intersecting

On the path to meeting

Only to be led astray, led their own way

I think about that every now and then

I wonder if we’re asymptotic

Are we?

That time we almost kissed

But we didn’t

Then we walked away

That time we sort of held hands

But we both let go

Then we looked away

That time we shared a bed

But we laid with our backs to each other

Then woke up when the other was gone

That time I said I want you

But you didn’t want me then

Then I watched you turn your back

Or that time you asked if I still wanted you

And I didn’t

Then you watched me turn my back

Two people

Curving, turning way from way

Moments apart from intersecting

On the path to being

Only to be led astray, led their own way

I hope not.

About
Hi, I'm 17, I keep to myself a lot. But writing has become a passion of mine since some unfortunate events crossed my way. Some people say my way of writing is rather sad, but I like to think there.. more..
