A Sad Kitten TaleA Poem by Moon or The Moons LightLittle girls unlike kittens don't often feel pretty Little Laddie was no exception But she didn't mind boys not looking her way The only attention she wanted was from her little kitty A little tot, Boiler was her name Boiler looked as if she'd been playing in oil all day She had black paws and a black mask Like her mask, her tail was the same
Then one day the Bendergraphs moved next door Laddie held Boiler close, unaware of what was in store They watched box after box being brought into the house The house that once belonged to Mr. and Mrs. Pattenmouse A small creature called Yipper, ran from out of view Chased Boiler away, Laddie screamed “GET BACK HERE YOU!” Boiler so fast hid under a tree As soon as Yipper saw, Boiler jolted Shocking the Johnsons, knocking over their tea Boiler ran so fast, but she ran the wrong way With a thump of a truck Was the start of Ladies very bad day “NO!” Laddie yelled as she ran to her pretty Her lovely white dress now covered in kitty A voice smooth as silk uttered a gasp As Laddie looked up and met eyes with the new Mrs. Bendergraph Laddie took Boiler home Showed her to her mother She let out a yell, then stormed outside and let out another From the window, as far as Laddie could see An angry mother and a sorrowful other Laddie just looked down at her precious little friend Now laying there cold Laddie remembered the time they'd shared, so little For Boiler was only 7 months old
Boilers funeral was short A shallow grave and her water bowl Laddie wore her little white dress Though it was no longer white More a darkish black red.
End.
