Grim reaper's feelings

Because we all have feelings right?

Why do people fear me?  

  For it is not I who brings the end of lives. 

 I am only a messenger and the only messenger I am.  

 A taxi to the other sides.

  I did not ask for this job.  

 People say I did but those are lies.

  But I have accepted that I am the one there

  When someone dies.

I just thought.... What would it be like to be death. People come on. I want to know what you thought about it. At least say something

This is a brilliant poem, and it brings up a really good point. A whole nother side to something that we have thought of as bad or evil for our entire lives. This flow worked really well, and I really like how straight-to-the-point it was. The meaning was clear, and you got it across in very few words. Good for you.

i really like this. death always comes with very negative connotations, so this is really different. i've never really thought of it that way, but you are very right. it's always the grim reaper or angel of death that people use to symbolize evil and despair, but i've never really thought about why. maybe because death is os abstract? i mean, there's no real way to draw death, so we created these characters and treat them like a scapegoat. but i digress haha :) very good piece, extremely thought provoking.

I've thought about this topic before but never in light of a poem, and if I did, mine probably wouldn't be as clean as this. I like how it is short and conversational, yet still with consistent rhyming. People are so quick to put negativity on that with which they disagree, but this shows a perspective of understanding for that other viewpoint. Brilliant, Harley. Thank you.

This... is... AWESOME!!! I read a book, "the Book Thief" that was narrated by Death. And he had the same sort of outlook on being Death as you do... This whole 'everybody has feelings' idea is portrayed beautifully. Good job! :)

I really enjoyed this harley - the idea was great and the stert of the poem very strong- the final line didn't seem as strong to me. Particularly liked ' taxi to the other side' Thought provoking poetry keep it up

I have wrapped my head around death a lot,He rares up fire in some of my writing, then in other pieces she smiles giving a window to the other side.I like the acceptance I feel from this .
