Author's Note

Harley (arbiter)
On the first year
We fought strong and fast
Thinking this wouldn't last

On the second year
The hostiles lost some fear
They knew the end was far near

On the third year
Our defenses grew weak
The bright future promised looked bleak

On the fourth year
Things got better for a short
One few a good report

On the fifth year
HQ left us for dead
Said they couldn't spare any more led

On the sixth year
We fought to push through
If not we would die we knew

On the seventh year
A routine was in swing
Strike and counter war almost boring

On the eighth year
The enemy cracked apart
A victory was soon to start

Now the ninth year
We fight and push too
Savages we've become living in a zoo

Soon the tenth year
What will it bring
Maybe and end to this suffering

no problem
your loyalty to the armed forces and your postion is clear. The stark nature of war - suffering is also touched upon. There is a glory...romanicisism, also associated with fighting for one's country which I gather you relate to quite deeply as well, thank you.
