This reminds me of one of my favorite quotes "I stopped bieng scared of the monsters under the bed when I realized they were inside me."
Well done, I like the kind of chant flow to it and the rhyme scheme is perfect. It's true that sometimes we can be a beast or monster to ourselves, and sometimes the outcome is remarkably sad.
