I messed up, I know

For that mistake
I hope you don't go

It was going great
My dream had come true

I was sitting there
And in my arms was you

But I'm not good
At the dating scene

No, I wasn't
Trying to be mean

I didn't kiss you
I don't know why

At home I started thinking
And started to cry

I promise
I'll do better

This poem is great at expressing a feeling we've all felt at some point. We all have felt like we've had a chance to love someone the way we've wanted, only to mess it up in some royal way and become overwhelmed with guilt. Your remorse and apology come across so clearly that it ties the entire poem together wonderfully. Thank you for the share. :)
