The Unknown - A Prequel To "The Decision"

The Unknown - A Prequel To "The Decision"

A Poem by underwriter

It hurts not knowing

Where this is leading to

Yet it hasn’t been long

Yes, this is so true!

But the feelings I have for you

Don’t ever feel wrong

Even though it hasn’t been long.

I feel so alive just speaking to you

But at times I’m unsure

If it’s how you feel too!

You said that you love me!

You say that you care!

But how can this be

If you ‘sympathise’ with…her?!

You say it’s your ‘duty’

The way you were made!

But with what is between us

Surely it’s what God has gave?!

I can’t say the words that you're desperate to hear,

Can’t give you the promise because I do fear

Losing you.

I tried to hold on to emotions so tight.

But began to release as I saw it were right.

Confusion shouldn’t swallow me

This soon I do fear.

I shouldn’t admit to a glistening tear.

But I cannot contain the feelings that be.

I LOVE YOU, there I said it!

So now can we just see?

Where this love will lead us in years to come.

I want to build you a comforting home.

I want to conform to this God given plan!

To live a life with you

And God at the head

Helping us, leading us

Strengthening us so.

I don’t want to have to let you go.

(Proverbs 3:5)

Very good expression, use of form, rhthem and rhyme. Great expression of the questioning and openness to God's leading. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will show you the right way Prov 3:6

a very sweet yet powerful poem - the want to love - the fear of losing someone - lots of imagery conveyed, and successfully at that!! nice play with the rhyme scheme, it was a subtle ripple and not in your face couplets!! so very nice!!

A very strong poem. Some decisions can completely change a life. There are hard to be made. Losing something or someone leave a empty space for many years. I like the feel and desire to do right. A very good ending to a excellent poem. Thank you.
