Green Pastures

Green Pastures

A Poem by underwriter

It’s time to move on to pastures new.

Time to step back, enjoy a different view.

I have loved you for so long.

Your name has been my song.

Yet the time has come to let you leave.

Let you move on to pastures green.

A love for you there will always reside.

With no hope of you by my side.

I fought, I tried, I did not hide

The feelings that you refused to collide.

But a greater act of love, is to let you be.

Let you be happy, abundantly.

There will always be a place for you.

Maybe in the wildest zoo…

Truthfully though,

As I slowly grow.

A love will forever be in my heart

But off the pedestal this must start.

Allow my heart to flit and to flutter

And maybe s..start with an embarrassed s..stutter.

Allow LIFE to run through my veins.

Refuse to conform to all things mundane.

It is time to learn how to LIVE again!

Now is the time to let in the light.

Draw back the curtains. Be blinded by might!

Now is the time for new starts in life.

A time to forget about life’s little strife’s.

And someday become an adoring wife.

That time is not now, for a life I must give.

Ideally to Christ, that’s where my soul lives.

For a life with Him is so abundant and pure.

He is much better than any human cure.

For He is the one that my soul does depend.

And love with Him, can only dee-pen!

A life with purpose and meaning

Is life’s little key to happiness being.

But this I say true, to you all of you too.

This poem's not just from me, to vast oceans blue.

Tis a poem for you, who are blinded by pain.

Riddled with torn feelings, again and again.

When everything seems to be so mundane.

And you begin to feel like your going insane.

Trust in yourself. Believe that there’s hope!

I know how it feels to scream “I CAN’T COPE!”

And fall to the floor feeling useless and bare.

But believe me, there is ALWAYS someone who cares.

It is time to learn how to LIVE again!

To sum up my friend,

Who to their pen they depend.

There is a life of worth under the skin.

And yes, we’re human and prone to sin,

But Jesus, He loves you. Of this I am sure.

And He opens His arms to YOU once more.

He wants YOU to live on those pastures so green.

He wants YOU to live so ABUNDANTLY!

Go to HIM and you will see

The treasures HE has in store for thee.

It is time to LIVE your life again.

Can anyone here give me an Amen?!

To let go is so hard. Especially as you have been holding on to those ones for so long. You have truly poured your heart out here. Well done for enough grit to reach ths point and Very well done for being gutsy enough to write about it. This is a welcome poem. well written too.

A very well written poem Underwriter. There is an art to the way you wrote this. I believe everyone is searching for answers and the words you've witten can guide them in the right direction. When connections we make with people are broken it is always a sad loss that takes place within, but it is precisely that same place that can heal us if we have enough faith in God. I commend you for a great piece.

Amazing! So beautiful and well written. Your words read like a song and are so sweet. I loved this. Christ is always there for us and I'm glad that his is.

A fresh take, a divine message, a poem of hope. you have everything punched into this wonderfully rhythmic social fable of sorts..Admirable that you maintained the rhyme thick and through. And I loved that instead going the way, so many others go, you chose a different, more mature path..Life is green if you want to feel it that way. the perspective makes all the difference. All in all, a really good poem..Thank you..

This poem kept me smiling the whole way through. I LOVE it when people add Christ into their writing, because He is life, and without Him.. we wouldn't even be here now would we?
I loved also how you at first made it clear you loved someone, but had to let them go. Everyone has to go through that, even as a teenager I went through that, and it's very hard. But with hope in Christ, it makes it THAT much easier.
Thank you so much for summing up what I've been wanting to tell the world myself, but there is no need now that you've written a beautiful poem about it :)
Thanks for sharing!

A really long and well written poem, about stuff that is so deep, so real, so important and great to see how you are moving on and allowing God to bring the healing you need.
