DefeatedA Poem by underwriterLORD I feel lost. alone, and unwelcome. Committed to a life that is so cold. And so lonesome.
LORD I'm so angry. Rage. It fills my heart. A repetition of sins... Must we again, begin from the start?
LORD I still need you. For without you I am nothing, just dust and spare rib. O LORD please! Release me from this suff'ring!
LORD I'm merely human. A form of complex being. With a heart, a soul, dissipated by sorrow. Destined here by your own engendering!
You say You have a plan for me... That it's written in Your book. But LORD, if You could just let me see! Take that forbidden, forefended, look!
You lead me beside seemingly still waters. Allowed me to consume its delights. Now suddenly the river is a trickle... A tear formed within Thy sight.
LORD I don't hate you! I just fail to comprehend the constant trials that do intend to bring my soul to untimely end.
I'm weak. Can't fight. Can't prolong this any longer. I need help O LORD! YOUR strength, to make me stronger!
And with that I fall. Your arms enveloped about me. Letting me release relinquishing tears. And helpless like a new born babe, I sleep. Finally admitting. Defeat.
