Creature of the Night

Creature of the Night

A Poem by Victoria Nakis

A beat less heart lies in my chest
A dark and clouded mind lies in my head
Cold blood runs through my veins
Numbness covers my skin

I pray upon those who cannot fight back
I am unstoppable and indestructible
Nothing fazes or disturbs me
I’m like a statue cold and lifeless

You fear the things that go bump in the night
But your little fears are nothing compared to me
I am your fears fear
My name is the one they cower at

I am a creature of the night
The thing that sends insignificant monsters into hiding
Nothing can keep you safe from me
You cannot hide; I’ll always find you

Victoria Nakis
Just something I wrote after I had written a short story about a monster.

About
My name is Victoria. I've lost touch with writing lately, but it's always been a passion. It's my favorite outlet when the feelings I have can't be contained. I'm not particularly good at poetry.. more..
