Complications

Complications

A Poem by Victoria Nakis

Dying, dying!
Can't you see I'm dying?
I'm drowning, drowning, I can't breathe!
I gasp for air and get nothing.
Help, help!

My heart feels hollow,
It's beating slower and slower
And soon it'll just give out.
Can't you see I'm dying?
Save me, save me!

Air was constrictions blocking my breath,
Heart failure stopping my heart;
But it's you that's killing me,
It's you, it's you!

Where's the under lying cause?
Where are all these complications originating from?
It's you, it's you!
You're the under lying cause,
You're the one that started it all!

Is there a cure?
Find me a cure!
It's all your fault, so why won't you cure me?
Save me, save me!
Fix me up!
If you won't then find someone who will!
I just need to be saved.

I want to breathe again,
without having to labor myself.
I want to feel whole again
and not have this hollow empty feeling in my chest.

Don't mind the repetitiveness.

The fact that you repeat is the key here. It brings the reader in because in conveys emotions and takes us on a journey. I like dit a lot. The choice of title fits exactly with this poem

About
My name is Victoria. I've lost touch with writing lately, but it's always been a passion. It's my favorite outlet when the feelings I have can't be contained. I'm not particularly good at poetry.. more..
