Gravitational PullA Poem by Victoria NakisThe sun is the center of our galaxy, Yet this morning I awoke next to it. I opened my eyes and there it was, Brightening my day before it had even started. It was still deep in slumber With lips half parted and eyes shut tight. I stared at the sun burning its image into memory. As I watched it breathe in and out, I raised my hand to touch its face; Its warmth burned into my hand As I traced the lines of its jaw, The curve of it lips, the tip of its nose. My hand rested on its cheek, Stroking across its morning stubble. And then he opened his eyes, Unleashed his steel blue irises to meet my gaze. After completely opening his eyes, He moved those masculine lips into a smile. Every time he does does this, My world sets on fire. It burns through me with electricity, Like the sun he has gravity, Like the universe I gravitate to him, Because he is the center of my galaxy. © 2013 Victoria NakisAuthor's Note
