TodayA Poem by Calypso
Morning breaks. The sun rises, only to fall again under its own weight. You would must rather whisper the hate you fell, than scream of the joy that tingles your lips. I see the warmth that stays. Hallow days thrown into the shadow of city lights. No one hides amidst the truth, they only hide behind a veil of lies. No one’s waiting, because their plans are in action. When today was yesterday’s tomorrow? The sun rises making the shadows hide. There are no lies to withhold. Only the exposed, naked truth. I’m exposed to all that might root. The life and hurt that roots. The weeds of life amidst of what I’ve sown Waiting for the harvest. Its about time I pull those weeds. When looking outside I see The Morning Glories bloom and the grass’ dew, The bright shining sky alight. Should I except today as not a mistake? Or as a chance to set thing right, to set my plans in motion. Today is my day.
Today I will no longer count my blights. Today I will trust the Lord. Today the Lord will be my happiness. Today is a new beginning. © 2012 CalypsoAuthor's Note
