Under My Skin

Under My Skin

A Poem by Kayla

Shh! It’s a secret

I’ve got a crush on someone

I shouldn’t like them

Because they’re straight

My gaydar has failed me

I’m not supposed to like her

I’m not supposed to want her

But she gets under my skin

Her smile is so golden

It lights up her face

Her eyes are so mischievous

They dance and shine

I’m so helpless

She’s under my skin

My heart flutters

Because she’s under my skin

I’ve been thrown off guard

Because she’s straight

And not my type

So tough but so feminine

So sweet but a little ditsy

Dresses like a girl

Looks like a girl

Acts like a girl

Not my type at all

But I’m drowning in her

Lost in her smile, her eyes

Guess she just got under my skin
