Serenity

Serenity

A Poem by Carlton Lloyd Smith
"

This is a free verse poem of recent completion. I'll let the reader decide what it's about

"

I am serenity and violence
moving an ocean of sorrow
to its home in the past

The waves of regret ebb
from my shore
draining the space and time
of tomorrow
exposing the empty sand

I am not truth or falsehood,
nor am I confined by conviction
expressed in a pause,
I am emptiness complete

I am Donne’s clod
washed away by the sea
and I am the less

Satisfied by nothing

A very interesting piece lol.. I myself cannot really decide what this could be about.. It can apply to many different things in life.. It's still a good piece though. Well done =D
