Plenty of changes

Plenty of changes

A Poem by unclecharlie

The last few years life's changes have been plenty

Took on a new life and a big cut in money

Yet this life hasn't been all I was told it would

But to get much better I am not sure that it could

Got on a Trailways bus out of Omaha

Headed south for a long lay over in Witchata

Then told them to send it to the South and East

Plenty of stops time to look over the streets

Had a duffel bag and a couple hundred bucks

Asking God for guidance and maybe a little luck

I am thankful for the friends that I knew would be there

With out them I couldn't have gotten any where

Now I sit and look at what I have got

Wondering if I deserve even close to the whole lot

Or should I part now and then with just a little bit

Helping someone while proving people still give s**t

Granted I've worked hard and helped more then a few

But is there ever really enough for someone else that we can really do?

The projects I continually seem to be taken them in

But now looking for things that may also help out a friend

Maybe it's older age or Grandpa's sayings I finally understand

Because it sure feels good to hold out a helping Hand!

Then to feel their thanks in a very gentle embrace

with the great big Smile stuck on their face!
